Sonae Sierra and the Casais Group have\u00a0entered into\u00a0a partnership to develop\u00a0<\/span>Build-to-Rent (BTR) projects<\/span><\/b>\u00a0in Portugal, based on industrialised construction modules. This partnership brings complementary skills across the entire real estate value chain together. While\u202f<\/span>Sonae\u202f<\/span><\/a>Sierra<\/span><\/a>\u202fwill take the lead on development strategy, asset management and investor relations, Casais Group will be at the helm of technology and infrastructure, responsible for the design and construction of assets based on a modular industrialised construction system.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Against a backdrop of intense pressure on the housing market, the partnership aims to\u00a0establish\u00a0a professional approach to the residential rental sector in Portugal. This collaborative approach will result in projects focused on creating long-term value that meets\u00a0high standards\u00a0of quality,\u00a0sustainability\u00a0and efficiency.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Carvalhido,\u00a0located\u00a0in Porto, is the first project to bring this partnership to life, and marks Sonae Sierra\u2019s entry into the Build-to-Rent segment of the Portuguese market.\u202fSet in a well-established urban area, with excellent transport links and proximity to public transport,\u00a0services\u00a0and amenities, the\u00a0Carvalhido\u00a0project\u00a0comprises\u00a0around 200 homes ranging from studio apartments (T0) to two-bedroom apartments (T2), built to\u00a0high standards\u00a0of quality, energy\u00a0efficiency\u00a0and comfort.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed from the outset for long-term rental, Carvalhido\u00a0benefits\u00a0from an integrated approach where Sonae Sierra will manage the property, capitalising on an asset whose quality, durability and maintenance efficiency are guaranteed by the Casais Group\u2019s industrialised construction methods.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Preparatory work at the factory has already begun, and on-site construction will start in April, with completion expected by the end of 2027.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
