Casais Angola celebrates 25 years and wins SIRIUS Award

In the year that it celebrates 25 years in the Angolan market, Casais Angola was given a prize in the Human Capital Development Programme category of the Sirius Awards, promoted by Deloitte.

The Casais Group has been in Angola since June 1999, thus marking 25 years’ presence in what is one of the Group’s main markets. With more than a dozen companies and around 3,000 employees, Casais Angola has supported and contributed to the country’s economic and social development by expanding its operations in the Construction, Public Works, Industry and Real Estate sectors.

“It is with great pride and a sense of accomplishment that we accepted the Sirius Award in the Human Capital Development Programme category. We have been in Angola for 25 years and our mission from Day One has been to attract and develop the best human resources for the company in line with Casais Group values, so that we can better support the country’s economic growth. Because of the environment of accelerated change in Angola, we have made significant investments, particularly in the industrial sector, through the upgrading of infrastructures as well as technological and innovative capacity building,” says Hélder Araújo, a Casais Group board member.

During the last quarter-century, Casais Group has developed dozens of projects of various sizes on Angolan soil. With around 3,000 employees, the company operates throughout the country, with projects in the areas of commerce, services and infrastructure. One of the Group’s most emblematic projects was the construction of the Dr Manuel Pedro Anzecot de Menezes Maternal and Paediatric Hospital in Luanda. Another health initiative occurred during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the company was instrumental in establishing several specialised centres for the treatment of epidemics and pandemics, thus responding to the real needs of the population.

“When we arrived here 25 years ago, the country was very different from the Angola you see today. There has been so much development since then. And we’re very proud to have contributed to that. From the outset we have been committed to a sustained contribution towards a more prosperous society – and that’s not going to change. We have carried out works all over the country, although our work has been more intense and significant in the provinces of Luanda and Benguela. But we know that there is room to support development in other provinces and we are committed to doing so,” says António Carlos Rodrigues, CEO of the Casais Group.

The Casais Group in Angola remains committed to responding to the needs of the population, and is therefore investing in the building sector, while also taking sustainability and the use of recyclable materials into account. With solid knowledge and extensive experience, the company continues to develop strategic infrastructural projects. Its current portfolio includes the construction and restructuring of health sector infrastructures, drinking water distribution, the supply of energy and communication networks, all of which promotes an improvement in living conditions, the quality of life and the well-being of the Angolan people.
