Casais Group teams up with Center Construction Robotics to expand its investment in construction-sector innovation and digitalisation

Casais Group is one of the newest members of CCR, the Center for Construction Robotics, an international network that brings leading companies, universities, and institutions together to spearhead digitalisation, automation, and robotics in the construction industry.

Its membership was formally announced during Open-Campus-Week from 26 to 28 August at the Construction Cluster of RWTH Aachen University’s Melaten Campus in Germany – home to Europe’s first digital Reference Construction Site, part of 5G-Industry Campus Europe, which is dedicated to research and innovation in the sector.

During Open-Campus-Week, Casais Group was represented by its CEO, António Carlos Rodrigues, and by Pedro Andrade, Technical Manager – Technology at Blufab, a Casais Group company. António Carlos Rodrigues participated in the official welcome ceremony on 26 August, marking the admission of Casais Group into the CCR. The next day, he gave a presentation outlining the company’s vision and strategy for innovation in the construction sector. Pedro Andrade, meanwhile, was a member of the jury for the “Best Master’s Thesis Projects” awards, where he judged academic work with the potential to impact the digitalisation and automation of construction.

The Casais Group CEO said that it is “proud to be part of this network of visionary companies and institutions, working side by side to transform the construction industry through robotics, artificial intelligence, digitalisation and sustainable practices”.

Now that it is a CCR member, Casais Group has become part of a network that includes some of Europe’s leading players in construction, technology and robotics, and as such, will benefit from early access to innovative projects, and collaboration in applied research as well as contributions to the development of sustainable, digital and automated solutions for the sector.

Companies such as Autodesk, KUKA, Jekko, Fundermax and EIFFAGE also took part in this event, hosting live demonstrations and applied research exhibits, including the testing of robotic technologies, innovative software, and automation solutions that are contributing to a more digital and sustainable construction industry.
