Innovation and sustainable construction are priorities
Since 2020, the Casais Group has been the authorized partner ofCree Buildings for Portugal. The contract was concluded by by António Carlos, CEO of the Casais Group, Hubert Rhomberg, CEO and Co-founder of CREE, Volker Weissenberger, Global Licensing Director of CREE, and Paulo Carapuça, Administrator of the Board of Directors of the Casais Group Thus, Casais Group has exclusive access to a brand-new digital medium for developing and constructing sustainable buildings for its clients and partners.
António Carlos explains the reasons why his company decided to join the CREE network: “CREE’s sustainable hybrid wood mindset and solutions align with our present and future positioning in the construction industry. We aim to build responsibly by incorporating sustainable business practices to create long-term value for our customers and society.” The CREE system relies heavily on a natural renewable raw material – wood. Its main feature is the standardized prefabrication of components such as roof panels, facade panels, columns, and frames. These can be quickly assembled on the job site, reducing carbon emissions, noise, and dust and saving time, resources, and money.
Hubert Rhomberg says: “Our sustainable building system is changing the face of the construction industry. We are accelerating this change process b establishing collaborations with authorized partners like the Casais Group. I see this as a huge success.”
Through the CREE platform, users can collaborate on projects and take advantage of the potential of customized digital replicas for rapid prototyping and planning. The knowledge sharing of the CREE system includes everything from high-level descriptions to detailed technical information. This “digital desk” ensures factors such as speed, cost, security, and quality are relevant to investors, architects, and technical designers, allowing for the continuous sharing of knowledge and experience between all parties. In addition, users can locate suppliers of products and services related to the CREE system. Through the CREE platform, users can collaborate on projects and take advantage of the potential of customized digital replicas for rapid prototyping and planning.
Innovation and sustainable construction are priorities
Under this license, we stand out as industry and market pioneers. Antonio Carlos mentions: “Casais’ environmental performance continues to evolve sustainably since the decision to implement efficiency programs to enhance our ‘High Environmental Profile’ buildings. Recently, we reinforced this performance by adopting environmental, social, and governance criteria (ESG), which now cover Energy to Building Systems, such as the one provided by CREE. The adoption of sustainable strategies, such as CREE’s pioneering wood and hybrid wood building systems, is fundamental to the development of the company and the consolidation of our position in an increasingly competitive market. Our company has a social responsibility to prevent and reduce environmental damage arising from our activity. We believe that organizations and governments should work together to limit carbon emissions, and using CREE systems means we are being proactive in this area.”
Customers and the world demand more efficiency from builders, less waste, and therefore, less environmental impact; on the other hand, they demand faster and cheaper products. Today, we need to build buildings that adapt to needs and keep up with changing businesses, companies, and people. So we need increasingly flexible buildings on the one hand while remaining much more durable and capable of holding up for many decades.
Industrialization is our tool to increase efficiency and is crucial for the construction transition. We will see products and systems thought and produced in an integrated way, thus transforming construction into an assembly process of components that can be configured in different ways to achieve the contracted final result.
We have been focused for some time on implementing projects aimed at sustainable development, investing in renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable construction, positioning ourselves at the forefront of innovation and value creation in business, and seeking excellence in solutions and customer service.
From a “zero carbon” building perspective, and in the logic of Nearly Zero Energy Buildings (NZEB), we initially worked on the GO GREEN BUILDINGS brand and the Olympo Solutions project. Subsequently, we developed and recorded the EPA mark (High Environmental Profile Buildings) to promote sustainable buildings that intend to be the instrument for business leverage and customer loyalty from a relationship perspective
These initiatives contribute sustainably to the conservation and rational use of energy as part of a collective effort, particularly by the European Union, to address the significant challenges that the effective management of available resources and climate change pose to humanity.
About CREE Buildings
Founded in 2010, CREE is a group of companies created to promote and stimulate innovation in sustainable buildings, providing users with a faster, more economical, and higher quality experience. This set of companies has developed the CREE systems: proven, consistent, and continuously developing pre-fabricated hybrid wood multistory building solutions. CREE collectively implements the technology through the CREE platform, enabling others to distinguish themselves in their markets. It has granted international licenses for its hybrid wood construction system in Japan, Singapore, Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Portugal.
